Tucked away in an unassuming street Rome is Romeow, a hip, stylish, vegan cafe that happens to be home to lots of cats: Romeo, Maos, Nino, Frida, Lamu and Iri who were all rescued from a local sanctuary to become resident cats at this beautiful bistro.
At first I wanted this website to be a simple travel website. Clean, tidy, with no heartfelt messages from me. But it soon became apparent that it was not going to be possible for me to write about cats in that way. As I delved deep into the Instagram and found so many rescue cats who had found new luck as a resident hotel cat the mission became clearer!

Four years ago, Phil, one of the owners of Inn On The Lakes in Sebring, Florida would sit at his desk each day and watch a shy tiny little kitten run around outside of the hotel. For one week, he placed food outside in the parking lot for him and slowly moved it closer to the front door. He finally decided to come inside and has been a part of the family ever since.

The story goes that Sally wandered into a nearby truck depot for quick cat nap, little to know she would go on a massive journey of more than 300 miles which would change her destiny from farm cat to hotel cat! Sally spent seven days on the road with the truck before turning up at Brookstown Inn.
