MEET THE CAT - TIGGER
This week we are introducing Tigger from Sani Mountain Lodge, Lethoso, South Africa! We are finding cats in all corners of the world and this lucky one lives on the border between South Africa and Lesotho at a remote lodge 2874 metres above sea level! Towards the end of 2014, a sweet little cat arrived out of the blue at Sani Mountain Lodge. There were no clues as to where he came from, but it was clear that he had decided all on his own that the remote property needed a resident cat to keep an eye on things! He was given a home and a name and now sports his own Igloo near the reception area where he can keep an eye on the comings and goings from explorers from afar.
Staff believe he is part African Wild Cat due to his interesting markings. Tigger can be often be found at the Lodge greeting guests, chilling on the deck or surveying the scene down the Sani Pass. Guests love the fact that he always wants to spend time with them and will curl up on a lap when he is made to feel welcome. The lodge is accessible only with a four wheel drive, staff think that Tigger must have travelled from a nearby village to take up his new duties as resident cat.
